Who is the right partner to implement my digital strategy?

„So test therefore, who join forever, if heart to heart be found together!” (Friedrich Schiller in 1799). Who is the right partner to implement my digital strategy?

A look at the Adobe partner landscape reveals that there are a variety of options for partner selection: global and regional Adobe partners, partners that have their roots on the tech side, and solution partners that originally come from the creative sector. These, in turn, can be grouped into agency networks, standalone agencies, "body lasers," specialists, and niche providers. The search for the right partner is complex, and each partner certainly has its very own unique reason for existing.

But who is the right Adobe partner for my needs now? Do I need a single service provider on my side, or perhaps two or three? Or five? How do I deal with my foreign markets? Should these be handled by independent, local partners on the ground, or should everything go through headquarters? Should national companies be authorized to intervene in the technological platform at all? Do I need generalists or specialists? Do I divide my project into content, design, strategy and technology, or do I base it on the organizational structure of my company? Questions upon questions. But what does that mean for me in concrete terms? Who is the right partner for me and my requirements?

The answer to all answers in IT is, as always: it depends.

You can think of the right partner as a piece of the puzzle. Because both customers and Adobe partners bring their own special characteristics to the table (focus, knowledge, gaps, special requirements, etc.). And the exact piece of the puzzle must not only fit strategically and technically. Above all, the chemistry between the companies, teams and people involved is also an enormously important factor. One of the first questions to be clarified when choosing a partner is the "how".

1. How do you envision working with an Adobe partner and in what role do you see them?

Do you see a partner primarily as a service provider and supplier, or rather as a strategic business partner at eye level? As a company, do you prefer classic project management methods and clearly defined project tasks in terms of specifications and requirements, or are you open to agile collaboration? Does the company already know what it wants to implement and how, and does it only need one person to do it? Everything is possible - and legitimate.

For eggs unimedia, a partnership and respectful collaboration between all project participants is an important cornerstone. Agility and transparency are our top priorities. However, we do not see this as a one-sided commitment. Both must be actively lived by both sides.

We want everyone involved to have the courage and the willingness to take risks, to make decisions and to assume responsibility for them. The prerequisite for this is that all project participants communicate absolutely openly, honestly and transparently at all times. All relevant information must always be available so that tasks can be performed in the best possible way and informed decisions can be made. In addition, everyone involved must know the goals that are being pursued in the company and in the project. Potential risks should be addressed openly and non-politically, and possible solutions should be discussed constructively.

Once the question of "how" has been answered, the question of "agency type" needs to be addressed.

2. Should my project be implemented by an international agency network or by a specialized partner?
An international network can make sense if all activities are to come from a single source and these must be provided worldwide/in different time zones/languages.

However, one has to take into account that distributed development teams increase complexity and thus decisions are delayed. Therefore, one could or should leave the technical responsibility for a project in one hand - but for design & content this could be different due to globally different requirements.

At eggs unimedia we pride ourselves on our independence. We put the customer and their interests first - we don't have to take anything else into consideration. We are neither leveraged nor part of an agency network and have been growing purely organically for 15 years. As one of the longest serving and most specialized Adobe partners in the DACH region, technology is neither an end in itself nor a status symbol for us, but merely the means to solve problems. We are open to fundamental discussions and respect the wishes and ideas of the customer.

As a full-service technical provider, we are 100% focused on Adobe, but we have our own DNA based on openness, honesty and trust. We see ourselves as your "Trusted Advisor."

Once you have created your shortlist based on the first two criteria, the technological decisions follow.

3. What special knowledge should my partner bring with him?
The speed of innovation in the area of digitization is enormous. It is therefore important to have a partner at your side who can continuously derive technological strategies, recommendations for action, and architectures from the innovations relevant to the customer. Given the speed of innovation at Adobe, this is only possible if the partner is constantly involved with the innovations.

Our focus is on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) technology. In this area, we are among the best in Europe. We also cover AEM-related technologies such as Adobe Target, Analytics and Commerce. We made our Adobe AEM specializations years ago for AEM Sites, Forms and Assets and keep them up-to-date. In the meantime, we also offer standard solutions for AEM, which now carry the "Adobe Verified Partner Solution" seal. We actively work for about 50 customers in the AEM environment, e.g. in the introduction of a digital experience platform, digitization of form processes or introduction of a central digital asset management.

4. Which parts of a project do we want to outsource?
This question can be complex and involves strategic decisions about how a company wants to "set itself up" and which roles should be filled internally or externally. Many companies do not want to assign in-house IT to Web projects and source this service externally. Other companies want to build up the required know-how internally and perform as much as possible themselves. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer to this question either. However, the company's project setup should definitely follow the general corporate strategy.

At eggs unimedia, projects of all sizes are part of the scope of services: from smaller consulting, service and training projects to large international projects. It is important for us to listen carefully to our customers and how they would like to work with us. After all, some companies want to work with us in cross-functional and cross-company Scrum teams. Others entrust us with the complete development and maintenance of their digital platform. Still others want to build up know-how internally and further develop the application themselves after an initial project. These customers benefit from our training services and we are mainly on hand to advise them after the initial project.

There are also project constellations where we cannot work as the sole partner for our customers. Reasons for this can be that design agencies are already set, we don't cover certain technologies or multinational companies would like to have another partner on site. This is not a problem for us, because we are used to working with others. For example, it is deeply embedded in our mission that we work "with each other instead of against each other". It's true that we now have more than 200 employees at two locations and that we have steadily expanded our tech portfolio in recent years and adapted it to market requirements. But we have a technology focus around Adobe Experience Manager and the creation of Experience Platforms. This specialized knowledge is sought after by many companies in the DACH region and with our partnership strategy we have been very well positioned in the Adobe environment for the last almost 20 years.

5. What does it mean for you now

As described at the beginning, the most fundamental questions to consider in your choice of service provider are:

How do I deal with my foreign markets? Should they take care of a technology partner independently, or benefit from a global webmaster and blueprints? Should they even be authorized to intervene in the technological platform independently of headquarters? Do I need generalists or specialists? Do I divide my project into content, design, strategy and technology?

The answers to these questions have a great influence on the solution design, the solution architecture of the project and consequently the choice of partners.

We would be happy to support you in such a "finding workshop" as your "Trusted Adobe Advisor" in clarifying these central questions.

6.Last but not least, a word about us
