Accessibility - social responsibility and digital reach

Digital accessibility has long been more than just a nice-to-have, it is a legal requirement and a decisive quality factor for modern websites. With the European Accessibility Act (EAA), clear guidelines will come into force on June 28, 2025, making web accessibility mandatory for many companies. The aim is to make digital content accessible to everyone, regardless of limitations or devices used. Websites, web apps and e-commerce offerings are particularly affected and must be accessible. Those who act early not only improve usability, but also strengthen their legal security and brand perception!

We are happy to advise you!

What does accessibility actually mean?
Digital accessibility means that websites, apps and documents are designed in such a way that they can be used by all people - regardless of limitations. This includes, for example, sufficiently high contrasts, a clear structure, keyboard usability and compatibility with screen readers. Comprehensible language and alternative texts for images are also important components. The aim is to make digital content accessible, readable and operable for everyone.
Why invest in accessibility?
Accessibility is not just a legal obligation, but a real competitive advantage: you reach more users, improve usability for everyone and strengthen your brand as inclusive and future-oriented. Accessibility has a direct impact on quality, SEO and conversion - and makes your digital offerings accessible to everyone. In short: an investment that pays off.
Who is affected by accessibility?
Around 87 million people in the EU live with some form of disability - that's around 1 in 5 people. In addition, there are millions of users with age-related limitations, temporary impairments (e.g. due to injuries) or situational barriers such as poor lighting conditions or lack of mouse use. Accessibility ensures that digital services remain accessible for all these people - and at the same time improves user-friendliness for everyone.

Our Services

Accessibility audit

We offer professional accessibility audits to ensure that your website meets the current requirements for digital accessibility. We check your application according to international standards such as the WCAG 2.2 AA guideline and uncover specific weaknesses. Our aim is not only to identify problems, but also to provide comprehensible and implementable solutions. The audits help you to minimize legal risks and extend your reach to all user groups. In this way, you create an inclusive user experience that benefits everyone.

Practical implementation of accessibility

In addition to carrying out accessibility audits, we also support you in the direct implementation of the recommended measures. We ensure that barriers are not only identified but also eliminated in the long term. In doing so, we pay attention to a technically clean, design-compliant and user-friendly implementation - tailored to your existing infrastructure. This means that you not only receive an analysis, but a holistic solution from a single source. This saves time and resources and gets you to a barrier-free application faster.

Accessibility starts in the mind - with the right know-how.

The accessibility audit is done and all recommended measures have been implemented, congratulations your website is accessible. To make sure it stays that way in the future, we share our expertise with you in practical training courses. Tailored to your existing infrastructure and challenges, we support you in making new features and content accessible right from the start.

Ready for the European Accessibility Act

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) obliges companies to ensure digital accessibility from 2025 - e.g. for websites, apps and online stores. We help you to implement these requirements safely and efficiently: with clear audits, technical implementation and practical advice. This ensures you remain legally compliant, strengthen your brand and reach more users.

Who does the EAA apply to?

The regulation applies to many companies that offer digital products or services in the EU - including online stores, banks, transport companies and software providers. Anyone who provides websites, apps or PDF documents is obliged to make them accessible. Early action creates planning security and avoids later conversion stress or legal risks.

Our approach

We take a practical and efficient approach to improving web accessibility in the long term. Our accessibility audits provide clear, prioritized recommendations that we implement directly as required - for an accessible website that complies with the WCAG guidelines and the European Accessibility Act. We support you from analysis to technical implementation and integrate digital accessibility into design and development in a meaningful way. Our goal: sustainable solutions that are legally compliant, user-friendly and SEO-friendly - and significantly increase the reach of your digital offerings.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 are the international standard for digital accessibility. Our approach is based on the four fundamental principles: Content must be perceivable, usable, understandable and robust. These guidelines help us to design digital offerings in such a way that they are accessible and usable for as many people as possible, regardless of individual abilities or technical requirements.

1. Perceptible

  • Sufficient color contrast (at least 4.5:1 for continuous text)
  • Alternative texts for images and graphics
  • Subtitles and transcripts for videos
  • Do not communicate content exclusively via color
  • Structure through headings, lists and visual hierarchy

2. Operable

  • Keyboard operation must be fully possible
  • Visible focus markers for interactive elements
  • Buttons and links large enough and easily accessible
  • No elements with time restrictions or automatic focus
  • Ski links for quick navigation (e.g. “Jump to content”)

3. Understandable

  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Forms with meaningful labels and instructions
  • Error messages with specific help
  • Avoid complex language and unnecessary technical terms
  • Clear call-to-actions such as “Order now” instead of “Let's go”

4. Robust

  • Semantically correct HTML for the best possible compatibility
  • Use of ARIA roles only when necessary and appropriate
  • Compatibility with screen readers and other assistance technologies (e.g. VoiceOver, NVDA)
  • Content remains accessible on different browsers or devices
