Book recommendation for Adobe LiveCycle Designer (AEM Forms Designer) users
In my blog article today, I would like to introduce a German-language reference book for form developers. Two months ago, our esteemed colleague Ulrich Bähr published his third book on Adobe LiveCycle/AEM Forms under the name "Expert tips for SAP Interactive Forms and Adobe LiveCycle Designer".

The book contains many valuable tips for form developers from the SAP Interactive Forms or AEM Forms/Adobe LiveCycle area. It has a logical structure and describes best practices around scripting techniques, form layout, data binding, tables, and so on. It contains helpful scripting tricks for Interactive Forms or XFA PDF templates and describes special cases in the data supply of forms.
In my opinion, the book is an excellent reference work. Especially the described use cases and the corresponding, finished scripts convinced me.
I also liked the structure of the book. It starts with the best practice of the logical form structure. The following chapter shows how to add logic to the form. In the concluding chapters, the integration of the form with third-party systems is discussed.
As we all know, developers like to google examples in development projects, whereby it is always difficult to read out the relevant content. I can recommend form developers to research best practices in this book in future as well. As a target group for the book I see advanced form developers who want to look “beyond their nose” in order to further optimize and improve their forms.
Summary: I highly recommend this book to all advanced form developers who use Adobe LiveCycle / AEM Forms Designer.
